Status of Access to Justice among Madia and Kolam Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups
The research project aimed to delve into the prevailing conditions among the Madia and Kolam tribal groups, recognized as Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG). The primary objective was to assess the extent to which their rights were being fulfilled, their awareness of constitutional values, their basic legal understanding, and their access to judicial institutions to seek justice for violations or non-fulfillment of their rights. The research involved immersing into the lived experiences of these communities to comprehend the challenges they face.
The research aimed to map the status of access to justice, examining factors such as affordability, geographical isolation, and language barriers that may hinder their access to justice. Beyond merely identifying challenges, the overarching goal was to explore potential interventions to address fundamental needs and ensure equitable access to justice for these communities.
